The beginnings of A Program in Miracles may be followed back to the collaboration between two persons, Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford, both of whom were distinguished psychologists and researchers. The course’s inception happened in early 1960s when Schucman, who had been a medical and study psychiatrist at Columbia University’s University of Physicians and Surgeons, started to experience some inner dictations.
